From Cognac Park — created in 1993 by Scotsman Dominique Park in partnership with Jérôme Tessendier, and since 2008 the premier brand of Distillerie Tessendier of Jarnac, founded in 1880 when mathematics teacher Gaston Tessendier inherited the Domaine du Buisson vineyards in the Borderies. Today the fourth generation, brothers Jérôme and Lilian Tessendier, serve as Master Blenders. The VSOP is a blend of 40% Fins Bois, 40% Petite Champagne, and 20% Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie — 100% Ugni Blanc — aged a minimum of 5 years up to 10, spending its first 8 months in new, lightly toasted French oak before transfer to used casks.
Color: Deep honey.
Nose: Vibrant, fresh aromas of apricot, ginger, and vanilla bean.
Palate: A softer entry building to a full, round, rich mouthfeel — flambéed banana, fresh peach, and caramel sauce.
Finish: Long and vibrant, with lychee, orange zest, acacia, and jasmine.
