Nixta Licor de Elote is a Mexican corn liqueur made from a base of tender, ancestral cacahuazintle (kaka • wha • SINT • lay) maize, grown in the high valleys and foothills of the Nevado de Toluca volcano. Nixta is produced at the DestilerÃa y Bodega Abasolo, where we honor the Mexican culture of corn and the ancestral craft of nixtamalization—a 4,000 year old Mesoamerican cooking technique that uncovers the deepest flavors and aromas of maize.

Nose: Cornbread, toasted corn, vanilla and caramel
Palate: Notes of sweet corn perfectly balanced with toasted notes of roasted corn, vanilla and caramel

Nixta Licor de Elote
If only you could see my expression when I first tried this Elote Liqueur, it was mind blowing. Just as the name says, it tastes EXACTLY like biting into a fresh roasted corn cob. With the delicate flavor, you need to mix in a substantial amount against your main spirit to be sure the flavor comes through, I use 1 part Elote to 1.5 parts Tequila, Mezcal or Corn Whiskey, then lime, cilantro, agave, and you will be transported to the best Mexican vacation you ever had!
