Balboa rye is a heritage grain revived by New Riff in collaboration with local farmers in Indiana and Kentucky, known for its deeper spice, nutty character, and bold grain intensity. Aged for at least four years in new charred oak barrels, this 100-proof rye is non-chill filtered, allowing the full body, oiliness, and complexity of the whiskey to shine through. The result is a deeply flavorful expression that pays tribute to old-world grain and modern precision. Tasting Notes Nose: Toasted grain, baking spice, orange peel, and dark chocolate with a hint of oak. Palate: Rich layers of rye bread, cinnamon, dried cherry, and herbal spice with malt sweetness.
