JASPER MORRIS 95 - 97 POINTS - "15% of whole cluster, which shows to a surprising degree on the nose. The colour is typically intense purple. The bouquet is still very heady, but the aromatics have an additional florality and the fruit stretches further on the palate. Still quite a lush texture, black fruit slightly to the fore. The 2020 Echezeaux has a really fine long finish with some juicy red fruit."

JOHN GILMAN 96 POINTS - "The Mugnerets’ 2020 Echézeaux is a glorious example of the vintage. The nose soars from the glass in a complex and exuberant blend of black plums, sweet dark berries, duck, black tea, a gorgeously complex base of soil tones, espresso, woodsmoke, spicy oak and a touch of balsam bough in the upper register. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and sappy at the core, with great backend mineral drive, ripe, seamless tannins, bright acids and laser-like focus on the very, very long, complex and seamless finish. A great young wine. 2035-2100."

WILLIAM KELLEY, WINE ADVOCATE 94-96 POINTS - "The 2020 Echezeaux Grand Cru is perfumed and dramatic, soaring from the glass with scents of sweet red berries, cassis, exotic spices, rose petals, orange rind and smoke. Full-bodied, broad and layered, it's textural and enveloping, with a lavish core of fruit, striking depth at the core and a long, resonant finish. Framed by powdery tannins and succulent acids, it will offer a wide drinking window."

TIM ATKINS, DECANTER 95 POINTS - " This bottling is consistently among my favorite Echézeaux. It is blended from grapes grown in Les Quartier de Nuits and Rouges du Bas that are destemmed and given a cold soak before a gentle fermentation and 18 months ageing in cask. The result has an incredibly expressive raspberry and cassis fruit with a pronounced floral note, and hints of spice, smoke and leather. The texture is lovely and dense, and the wine lingers enticingly on the finish. Superb. This wine is both approachable early and eminently ageworthy. Drinking Window: 2027-2050."
