"Noble," designating the most interesting grape varietals, is extended to this unique hillside vineyard on the Sonoma Coast. The cool maritime breeze and sunny mountain climate make it ideal for Pinot Noir. Handcrafted with classical Burgundian techniques, this wine is also a tribute to the Nobles family which has been farming this vineyard for four generations.
JEB DUNNUCK 97 POINTS - "From the same vineyard as the Ma Douce Chardonnay on the second ridge from the coast in Fort Ross-Seaview, the deep red/ruby 2021 Pinot Noir Coteaux Nobles comes out swinging. Packed with layered aromas of sassafras, framboise, roses, cedar, Asian spice, and coriander, it’s medium to full-bodied and propels through the palate with ripe tannins, a long finish, and a plush feel, although it also retains a more vertical spine of fresh acidity throughout. Drink 2025-2040."
ANTONIO GALLONI 96 POINTS - "The 2021 Pinot Noir Côteaux Nobles is a stunner. Bright, floral and beautifully layered in the glass, the 2021 offers up an exotic mix of red/purplish fruit, blood orange, spice, new leather, cedar and mint. This is a wine of restraint, with less opulence than the past, but still plenty of richness. Pretty floral and spice overtones lift the finish."
ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE 94 POINTS - "The 2021 Pinot Noir Coteaux Nobles features a dramatically perfumed nose redolent of ripe cherries and raspberries. Planted to a suitcase selection in the mid 1990s, it's medium to full-bodied, wonderfully silky and generous on the palate, but it tightens up nicely on the finish, reaching a long, crescendo of fruit intensity."
