No longer unknown, Ruché's starring role in the 2019 Montalbera "Laccento" has earned itself a place among the top Italian wines in the well-respected Gambero Rosso wine guide with a "Tre Bicchieri" award! And Italian wine critic, Luca Maroni (who reviews wines by evaluating overall pleasure and drinkability of a wine), considers the "Laccento" to be one of his favorites each year.
Now you can discover the charms of Ruché for yourself with one of its best expressions: Montalbera's "Laccento" bottling! With the tendency for Ruché to make wines of marked floral perfume (like roses and violets), sometimes with distincitve apricot hints joining the more commonly cited red and black fruits, it's a wine you want to keep smelling. In Montalbera's hands, the seductive qualities are completed by wine's soft texture and voluptuous body, which is enhanced by including some late harvest grapes! While Italy's reds can be firmly structured wines with a strong herbal or earthy streak, Ruché stands out for making wines with fragrant and soft qualities; though it finishes dry, it does so with gently lingering fruit and floral notes. This is a wine that is absolutely enjoyable on its own, especially served at a cool 60F.
