An exclusive 7 Year Old bottling of Meikle Tòir for The Whisky Exchange, finished in Chinquapin casks. With more age than the core Meikle Tòir releases, this is an exciting snapshot of how Billy Walker's peaty side project at GlenAllachie is progressing. Chinquapin, a North American relative of the more commonly used White Oak, adds spiciness and cigar notes to this single malt. Meikle Tòir's whiskies have a sweeter smoke character, as they use mainland rather than coastal peat. Those oaky campfire notes dovetail with ginger, butterscotch, orange peel and crème brûlée.
