#10 on Hi-Time's Top North American Cabs of 2025
This is the wine we relentlessly pursue, the one that embodies our commitment to bringing you extraordinary quality without the extravagant price tag. Sourcing a fantastic, cellar-worthy wine at $100 is straightforward, but finding a Cabernet Sauvignon that truly delivers character, nuance, depth and body at the $20 to $25 mark-that's the true challenge. Yet, we live for this quest. We have always been dedicated to the task, and this year, we believe we have unearthed one of our most impressive finds yet! Loren Crossing takes its name from a favorite Sunday bicycle route that crisscrosses the beautiful vineyards and natural landscapes of Napa Valley. This scenic ride, often winding past the native California Bay Laurel, inspired the wine, paying homage to the days spent pedaling amongst the laurels, exploring the valley north to south and east to west.
Behind this exceptional value are the same people who have brought you other wines that have also placed on our "Top Wine" list, labels such as Valravn, Marine Layer and Averaen. The Loren Crossing 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from carefully handpicked Napa Valley grapes, with a large portion sourced from St. Helena, and aged for 16 months in 40% new French oak (something typically reserved for wines $50 and above)! From the very first sip of this wine, we knew we had something special in our glasses. We even opened up a second bottle at a later date (you know... for verification... wink wink) and this bottle was just as good as the first one! The resulting Cabernet offers a compelling profile where concentrated black fruits take center stage, featuring rich boysenberry and blueberry compote. These luscious fruit notes are perfectly accented by savory hints of bramble, dark chocolate, and clove spice. The finish is distinguished by fine, silky tannins that provide substantial structure and complexity, making it an incredible find for the price!
