"Based on 58% Zinfandel, 17% Mourvèdre, 11% Syrah, with the rest Carignan and Graciano, the 2023 Problem Child is medium to full-bodied, round, and sexy, with incredible aromatics of red and black fruits, spicy herbs, incense, orange blossom, and black tea. Aged 17 months in puncheons and barriques (20% new), it has a silky texture and flawless integration. This is one of the finest Zinfandel-based wines I've had in some time. Drink 2025-2033."
ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE 94 POINTS - "One of two Zinfandel-based offerings in the portfolio, the 2023 Problem Child is based around 58% Zinfandel from Paper Street Vineyard, complemented by 17% Mourvedre, 11% Syrah, 7% Carignan and 7% Graciano from Linne Calodo's vineyards. It matured for 16 months in barrique and puncheon with 20% new American oak. It offers impressive oak integration, even at this early stage, opening with a resinous, vanilla-tinged bouquet padded by juicy, sweet fruits and spice-driven accents. The palate is luscious and concentrated, concluding with a thick yet structured finish that lingers with juicy fruit flavors and powdery tannins."
