ORGANICALLY GROWN GRAPES
This Ribera del Duero is a rich, modern take on the famous region's powerful Tempranillos. The 2017 shows evolving aromas of carmelized fruits and savory, musky notes of an earthy forest floor, along with veins of fresher, lifting notes. It's mouthfilling, with an elegant juciness that's dusted with the grippy, chalky tannins that form the structural foundation of the wine. The finish grips the tongue and leaves you with a drawn-out saturation of woodspice (like anise and clove), balsam, dried herb, and a mix of sunbaked dark fruits and brightening red berries. This is an obvious partner for roasted or braised red meats, especially flavorful game, well-aged cheees, and earthy mushrooms!
Bodegas La Horra was founded by Bodegas RODA and brothers Pedro and Pablo Balbás in April 2009. Located in the town of La Horra, the 20-hectare estate is surrounded by pine forests south of Monte de Villalobón. This is only the second vintage of Corimbo 1 produced by Bodegas La Horra. It is made from Goblet- trained Tempranillo vines that are more than 50 years old in La Horra. Cultivated organically without the use of chemical fertilizers, herbicides for synthetic products, the perfectly ripened grapes are aged for 16 months on French and American oak. The result is a polished, full-bodied beauty displaying a mélange of red and black fruits with great intensity and purity.
