L ARLESIENNE 2023 MORGON CORCELETTE

Corcelette is one of Morgon’s most beloved lieux-dits, prized for its sandy granite soils and elegant structure. Benoît’s half-hectare parcel sits on the southeastern edge of the cru and is farmed biodynamically, with whole-cluster inclusion adjusted according to the vintage. In 2023, fermentation was gentle and unforced, with a two-week infusion and no punch-downs. The wine was then aged for 18 months in 500-liter neutral oak barrels. Moreau’s Corcelette is supple and dark-fruited, with a polished frame and fine, powdery tannins that set it apart from the airier style of his Chiroubles. It carries itself with subtle structure and persistent detail, showing the kind of refinement that makes Morgon one of Beaujolais’ most age-worthy crus.
