This 12-acre vineyard and winery is located in a small, yet highly-envied area in Napa Valley called Pickett Road. The residents wineries of the area include Kenefick Ranch, Hundred Acre, and Araujo…so you get the kind of grapes are grown here! Winemaker Rebecca George has done a fantastic job on these wines!
In addition to their estate vineyard, the winery also works with two other amazing vineyard sites. Kick Ranch is a hillside vineyard located on the western side of Spring Mountain, and is graced by the cool coastal fog of Sonoma County. This site provides the driving, minerally acidity and fresh citrus notes. The Aetna Springs vineyard in Pope Valley (a sub-AVA of Napa Valley), sees hotter summer days and contributes warmer characters like ripe stone fruit and tropical notes with a touch of spice.
Aged for 7 months in a combination of 50% stainless steel drums, 30% neutral French Oak, and 10% new oak, the 2018 Sauvignon Blanc is fresh, floral, and vibrant with crisp, minerally acidity. The nose brings forth an array of aromatics - lime zest, ripe stone fruits, jasmine blossom and subtle toasty oak spice. Abundant flavors of mandarin orange, white peach, and honeydew melon, come together with a subtle briny note that adds character and complexity to the wine. The palate is soft and coating on entry, yet has a wet-stone minerality that provides both tension and length to the citrusy profile of this wine.
