Due to an unprecedented distribution shake up, we were offered a one-time deep deal on one of California's most prestigious and loved sparkling wines. Born forty-five years ago in Sonoma County's chilly coastal Green Valley with the 1980 vintage, Wedding Cuvée was conceived as a tribute to love, beauty and celebration. Over the years, it has become Iron Horse's most famed and cherished sparkling wine. It has stood as the centerpiece for countless weddings, anniversaries and birthdays, not to mention a good of number of high-level White House dinners. A classic blend of three parts Green Valley estate Pinot Noir and one part Chardonnay, Wedding Cuvee sports a faint, pale salmon hue while it beckons one with fresh aromas of raspberries, mandarin oranges and Bing cherries. On the palate Wedding Cuvée delivers a scrumptious mix of red berry and citrus flavors that are balanced by a remarkably delicate texture and punctuated with an enduring, creamy finish.
This blanc de noirs exceeds the French Champagne standards for vintage quality, belonging to the category of "Grower Champagne," and is always aged for a minimum of three years on the yeast. This 2019 vintage is a particular success as the following reviews attest. Please note that this is a never-to-be-repeated offer limited to our stock on hand.
WINE SPECTATOR 93 POINTS - "Succulent and seductive, with festive raspberry and lemon crème brûlée flavors accented by fresh gingerbread and spice tones, which glide on the creamy finish."
JAMES SUCKLING 93 POINTS - "You can see and taste the elegant pinot noir component of this light-bodied but full-flavored wine. The color is amber-pink and the aromas are vivid in black cherries and raspberries, leading to a delicate, tangy yet silky palate of yellow plums, ginger and toast. Nicely dry. Made with 77% pinot noir and 23% chardonnay. Drink or hold."
