VEGAN
Hiedler's single vineyard Gruner Veltliner, "Thal" presents the family's first vineyards, cultivated since 1856. This bright and sunny Gruner Veltliner is brimming with flavors of fresh pear, nectarine, kiwi, and a soft, clean, dry, and lasting finish.
The vineyard, Thal, is a moderately sloping terraced vineyard in the southern Langenlois region, composed of quartz and sandy, yellow calcareous loess soil. The wine is fermented and raised entirely in stainless steel, with extensive contact on the fine lees and partial malolactic fermentation. This is a Gruner Veltliner that can age beautifully. Enjoy with roast chicken and vegetables, as well as fish and salads. This is a wine you can immediately enjoy or cellar. We have tasted bottles of the gruner, "Thal" from the 70s, which were quite astounding.
Additional notes from Stephan Reinhardt of The Wine Advocate expounds: "Hiedler's wine represents a unique style that combines elegance with baroque and finishes linear and lean like a Gothic cathedral. Impressive!"
