The Henschke family has been making wine since Johann Christian Henschke planted a small vineyard at Keyneton in 1862. Each generation built upon the foundations of Henschke and brought new ideas and ongoing success. The Henschke family also pioneered single-vineyard wines in Australia with the Hill of Grace and Mount Edelstone wines. These captured the wine world's imagination and continue to be highly sought after premium wines. Lisa Perrotti-Brown of the Wine Advocate wrote about this wine, "Euphonium explodes from the nose with lifted cherry, blackberry and mulberry notes over suggestions of licorice, sandalwood, bay leaves and cedar." This wine is complex with layers of sweet, concentrated fruit and texture, with fine-grained tannins for a long and elegant finish. Absolutely delicious!
JAMES SUCKLING 94 POINTS - "A blend of 65% shiraz, 20% cabernet sauvignon, 10% merlot and 5% cabernet franc with a serious nose of dark blackberries, some graphite and distinctly cabernet notes with a spicy edge. It shows confident ripeness, too. The palate is rich, fleshy and even, showing plenty of bright-tannin chew, great length, depth, a little toasty oak and an assertive finish. One of the best they've bottled. Drink now."
