The Graham Beck Brut Rosé has all the hallmarks of a traditional and carefully crafted bubbly, with the added appeal of being flirtatious and fun. Elegant and structured, it truly is a sparkling wine for all seasons. Not familiar with South African bubbly? The Beck Brut Rose is a multi-regional, multi-clonal selection of carefully chosen, hand-picked Pinot Noir and Chardonnay parcels from across the Western Cape including from their own estate, combining distinct terroir influences to create an alluring and succulent Rosé.

Wine growing in South Africa dates back to the middle of the 17th century though much of modern South African winemaking started developing during the first half of the 20th century with the introduction of Pinotage (South Africa's signature red grape, developed in 1925 as a cross between Pinot Noir and Cinsault). While Pinotage is considered a 'new world' grape, much of the wine made in the country could be considered more 'old world' in design, reflecting the flavors and traditions of continental Europe.

Graham Beck (1929-2010) made his mark in business (coal mining initially) before turning to the wine world. He purchased his property in Robertson in 1983, realizing the limestone soil would be perfect for grapes to make sparkling wine. If the limestone worked in Champagne, it should (and did!) work in Robertson! Graham and wife Rhona's son Antony currently runs the estate with his wife and five children.

Made from the traditional Méthode Cap Classique base wines of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, its unique silver-pink hue is obtained by an enzymatic reaction during the transport of the Pinot Noir fruit to the cellar. The fine, lively mousse is brisk on the palate, showing hints of oyster shell, fresh lavender and subtle hints of berry and cherry.

TASTING NOTES - This wine has a unique pale silver-pink hue. Aromas of raspberries, cherries and a few secondary whiffs of minerality. A lively mousse, but fine in the mouth, with subtle red berry flavors enlivened by bright acidity. Brisk, yet delicate on the palate, bursting with flavours of freshly crushed berries and hints of oyster shell. Flirtatious and fun, yet elegant and structured, it's perfect for all seasons and settings.
