Bikavér (Bull's Blood) is the famous red blend from the volcanic and limestone hills of Eger in north Hungary. Gal Tibor's "Titi" Bikavér Superior, based on a blend of Kékfrankos, Kadarka,and small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignn, Pinot Noir and Syrah, is medium-bodied, with waxy red cherries, plum jam, and spicy green herbs on the palate. The grapes are organically farmed and the winery practices low intervention. The wine is vegan.
The winery was founded by internationally recognized winemaker Gal Tibor who returned to Hungary after working with Ornellaia in Tuscany. After Mr. Tibor died in a road accident his family took over the winery. Gal Tibor Jr. now manages the estate's forty hectares of vineyards.
