JOHN GILMAN 93 POINTS - "The Fontaines’ vines in Vergers are most sixty-five years of age, but there is a parcel that is decidedly older and may be around the same age as their vines in Maltroie. The wine is beautiful expressive today, offering up a complex aromatic constellation of lime, pear, a touch of pink grapefruit, a lovely foundation of chalky soil tones, vanillin oak and a topnote of fruit blossoms. On the palate the wine is pure, focused and full, with a lovely core of fruit, fine mineral drive and grip, racy acids and lovely precision on the long, seamlessly balanced and complex finish. Another beautiful premier cru Chassagne! 2028-2060."
VINOUS 93 POINTS - "The 2024 Chassagne-Montrachet Vergers 1er Cru has an expressive nose with walnut and light fumé scents filtering through the citrus fruit. Good intensity. The palate has a subtle reduction on the entry, good intensity, more citrus-driven than the Clos des Murées with a sorbet-fresh finish that leaves a dab of ginger on the aftertaste. Excellent."
