ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE 94 POINTS - "Erickson is an unabashed fan of the vintage. 'For us, and for most people, it was a cool, long season, a late harvest but only in terms of dates—the fruit was very fresh. It's the first year I ever harvested in November,' he said. 'Fermenters were full and there was no rain. We picked the last fruit November 3. What I love about the '23s is that the wines are exactly what they should be—there's a lot of differences in varietal and regional expression. When you have a really warm vintage, I think you lose some of the detail and nuance in the wines.''

"The largest-production wine (3,000 cases) of the Favia Erickson lineup is the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon, which is approximately half from Coombsville and half from Oakville. A blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 21% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot, it offers a complex combination of ripe red cherries and dark-berried fruit and a hint of mocha. It's medium- to full-bodied, plump, generous and reasonably supple compared to the other wines in the range, finishing velvety and long."

WINE SPECTATOR 93 POINTS - "This delivers a pure and steady beam of cassis and plum puree carried by gentle underlying succulence. Flashes of hibiscus and iris filter through the fruit, adding to the overall elegant feel. Drink now through 2034. 3,087 cases made."
