Between 1991 and 1994 Savoy Vineyard was planted by original owner Rich Savoy in Anderson Valley. The vineyard is full of knolls composed of sandy loam and alluvial terraces with more darkly colored loams underlain with clay loams. Failla receives a selection massale from the vineyard, ensuring that it gets the most complexity and the truest reflection of the Savoy Vineyard. The grapes are 30% whole cluster fermentation with all native yeasts before aging for 11 months in 20% new French oak. The finished wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered.

WINE SPECTATOR 93 POINTS - "Full of flavors of mulberry and boysenberry preserves gently infused with rose hip and iris hints. Sweet spices and a hint of warm earth peek in on the generous finish. Drink now through 2033. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 256 cases made."
