Thirty years ago, Georgios Raptis, a member of the Hellenic Association against grapevine phylloxera, helped save Greek vineyards by establishing one of the country's very first vine nurseries in 1973 to provide vital anti-phylloxera American rootstock grafts. Today, the 10-hectare Estate Raptis winery is located in Leontio in the heart of the Nemea region in Greece, now run by the second generation, Christos and Helena Raptis. This is their signature 100% Agiorgitiko red wine, with a deep ruby red color, a plush texture, and rich plum, blackberry and cherry notes, layered with warm Mediterranean spices, and a hint of dark chocolate.
