DON Q GRAND ANEJO RUM 40% (OLD BTL) 750ML (OLD PIC) PUERTO RICAN RUM

Created to celebrate the 500th Anniversary of the discovery of Puerto Rico by Columbus in 1493, Don Q Grand Añejo is produced by the Serralles family from the stock of their best aged rum. It was released in 1993 but has only recently made it here to Hi-Time. Grand Añejo blends older and younger rums to harness a balance between the sweet and the dry that is harmonious. The nose reveals under-ripe tropical fruit (green banana skin) with tight baking spices backing up damp dark wood and leather. The tastes follow that direction and include provocative sour notes that linger and are carried along with flavors of smoky custard or burnt sugar in a medium bodied mouth feel. Drink this on the rocks, with a splash of water or in a tasty cocktail.
