Amber intense with golden tints, this single-domaine vintage from La Collection Unique comes from Domaine de Monturon in Le Bourdalat, Bas Armagnac — a tiny 1.1-hectare estate on sandy soils farmed by Bachala, a former lion tamer from the Zavatta circus who turned to armagnac production in the late 1970s. 100% Baco grapes, distilled continuously at 53% alc. by distiller Roumat and aged in regional oak. Bachala's notably humid cellar conditions contributed to the armagnac's naturally lower alcohol level.
Nose: Intense and powerful — matured aromas of undergrowth, toast, leather, brioche, honey, and licorice.
Palate: Full-bodied with intense character; earthy, leathery depth balanced by sweet brioche and honey.
Finish: Long, complex, and distinguished.
ABV: 41.5%
