The Cragganmore distillery was founded in 1869 by John Smith, who was said to have been the most experienced distiller of his day. John Smith chose the distillery's location on the north east of Scotland due to the abundance of barley as well as its proximity to Scotland's fastest flowing river, the River Spey, and the connection to the Great Highway Railway line. Today the distillery is home to one of the most complex and characterful malt whiskies of the Speyside region: easy to sip, classic Speyside malt with a touch of peat and smoke, plenty of both sweet and savory spices, cereal grains and a hint of citrus. Easy to love!

WINE ENTHUSIAST 90-95 RATING - "The succulent aroma develops with aeration in the sweet forms of barley, cream, light caramel, and a trace of tropical fruit. Palate entry is round, borderline plump, breakfast-cereal sweet, and honeyed; at midpalate, there's a slightly oily peat smoke. Sweetly concludes with the focus on the malt. - P.P."
