A collaboration between Vinedos de Contino, the oldest estate of Compañía Vinícola del Norte de España (CVNE), and Guillaume Thienpont, 4th generation winemaker in Pomerol (Vieux Château Certan, Le Pin).
Contino is located in Laserna, Rioja Alavesa, was one of the first estate in Rioja to adopt a château-style model inspired by Bordeaux (estate-grown fruit, estate bottling).
CHORUS was created as a one-off for the 5O years anniversary of Contino's acquisition by CVNE (1974-2024), but the results were so good that CHORUS will now be made every year.
The name CHORUS refers to a gathering of voices singing in unison, illustrated by Contino's terroir identity and the vision of Guillaume Thienpont, bringing Rioja and Pomerol together.
100% Tempranillo, from the oldest vines - 60 years average - of three distinct parcels of the Contino estate: Vina el Olivo (clay limestone), San Gregoria Encina (clay loam) an Don Vicente (red clay).
Only 3,000 bottles produced for the 2024, first vintage.
