Michael Browne has always been inspired by the craftsmen of yesteryear and today. From his earliest memories watching his dad in his workshop, Michael has always been inspired by the craftsmen of yesteryear and today. As a young boy, when he wasn't in his dad's workshop refinishing old dressers, he would be running around apple and cherry orchards. Michael also loved business and spent a lot of time trying to combine his passions, but it wasn't until moving to Sonoma County with its world-class vineyards where he found his calling in winemaking.

After selling his stake in Kosta Browne, Michael again wanted to do something special, and do it without other managing partners. He went back to his winemaking roots, and focused on grapes from the famed Russian River Valley. Chev focuses on extraordinary fruit from a select few of the best vineyards in the region. Attention to detail is everything and no corner is cut. If it's not the best, then it's simply not a part of Chev; quite fitting for somebody who feels the Russian River Valley is like the Garden of Eden. When we tasted the 2021 as it was first released, our eyes lit up and our palates soaked up the rich fruit and complexities of this stellar wine. Earning a tremendous 96 points from Jeb Dunnuck, Chev is a new reference point for fruit forward, hedonistic Pinot Noirs!

JEB DUNNUCK 96 POINTS - "A darker ruby/magenta color, the 2021 Pinot Noir Russian River Valley has the stamp of the man here and offers notes of pure cherry liqueur, cigar box, pine needles, and crushed flowers. Medium-bodied, it’s a crowd-pleaser and has all the classic notes of the Russian River Valley while keeping polished and pure. Drink 2025-2040."
