"Château Pesquie is one of the great estates of the Ventoux" - Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate
We just brought in an incredible value that is a great choice as a daily drinker. We were able to try the new vintage on this deeply fruited Rhone blend from Chateau Pesquie and loved it! The Terrasses Special Selection is incredibly satisfying with its array of perfectly ripened fruit and a freshness that has us asking for more. This is yet another jewel from importer, Eric Solomon who specializes in sourcing amazing wines at reasonable prices.
Jeb Dunnuck has written, "I continue to sing the praises of Château Pesquie, which is one of the leading estates in the Ventoux region and is run by the talented brothers, Alexandre and Frederic Chaudiere. Don't let the prices fool you, these wines are the real deal."
Jeb Dunnuk gave this mouth filling 50/50 blend of Grenache and Syrah 93 Points noting its "richer, denser style."
James Suckling gave Chateau Pesquie Terrasses a score of 93 Points, calling it "A well-crafted, focused and lively Ventoux red with notes of dark cherries, currants, wild herbs and baking spices."
As with most of the Southern Rhone, this area is bathed in intense sunshine which allows the grapes to achieve optimal ripeness. This wine demonstrates the freshness and vibrancy that Ventoux is capable of achieving due to its elevation and its unique microclimate provided by the nearby mountain. The result is a supple and rounded style that's ready to drink and so easy to like.
Chateau Pesquie's Terrasses is a delicious wine and an amazing value. Buy this with confidence as an easygoing and crowd-pleasing daily drinker to share with family and friends.
JEB DUNNUCK 93 POINTS - "A special selection cuvée put together by importer Eric Solomon, the 2022 Ventoux Terrasses (Special 30th Anniversary) is based on an even split of Grenache and Syrah that was raised mostly in concrete with 30% in used barrels. It has a richer, denser style in its ripe black fruits, peppery herbs, and graphite-like aromatics and is medium to full-bodied, with a deep, layered mouthfeel and ripe tannins."
JAMES SUCKLING 93 POINTS - "A well-crafted, focused and lively Ventoux red with notes of dark cherries, currants, wild herbs and baking spices. Medium-bodied with finely grained tannins. Textural and focused with a transparent character. Vivid and well composed. From organically grown grapes. Vegan. Drink or hold."
