"One of the best values I've seen in a long time" - Jeb Dunnuck

"Full-bodied richness, a ripe, decadent, opulent profile and no hard edges" - Jeb Dunnuck

Today, we have a fantastic wine from importer Eric Solomon who continues to bring us delicious wine at compelling prices. Solomon is unquestionably one of the best value importers in the world and continues to develop successful partnerships with winemakers in both France and Spain. The Chateau Juvenal wines show Solomon's signature fruit-driven style and are full-bodied wines packed with flavor at prices which are an uncommon value. This wine boasts great depth and intensity with polished tannins and a seamless texture.

Jeb Dunnuck, who has reviewed Rhone Valley wines for the Wine Advocate for years raved about this wine and gave it a score of 93 Points. He went on to describe it as "full-bodied richness, a ripe, decadent, opulent profile and no hard edges, it's a no-brainer purchase." Well-known oenologist, Philippe Cambie consults on these wines. Cambie has earned his reputation by producing numerous 100 Point wines in the Rhone while consulting with notable Chateauneuf du Pape properties including Clos du Caillou, Clos Saint Jean, Bosquet des Papes, Domaine Giraud and many more. Under his guidance, Chateau Juvenal is producing delicious wines from Ventoux in the Rhone Valley.

Ventoux is a wine growing appellation in the southeastern part of the Rhone with vineyards blanketing the south and west-facing slopes of Mount Ventoux. This optimal location is blessed with intense sunshine which allows the grapes to achieve a good level of phenolic ripeness, while the cooler temperatures moderate this effect and allow the grapes extended hang time. The results show in the perfectly ripened fruit which maintains remarkable freshness.

This wine from Chateau Juvenal is a full-bodied, lush and richly textured wine to enjoy for any occasion. We simply call this wine an incredible value, which completely overdelivers for the ridiculous price of less than $12.00 per bottle. Enjoy!

JEB DUNNUCK 93 POINTS - "Even better and one of the best values I’ve seen in a long time, the 2016 Ventoux Les Ribes du Vallat checks in as a blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah brought up all in stainless steel. It offers a huge nose of garrigue, saddle leather, rare meat and loads of blackcurrant fruit. With full-bodied richness, a ripe, decadent, opulent profile and no hard edges, it’s a no-brainer purchase and ideal for drinking over the coming 2-4 years."
