We found a delicious Saint Emilion Grand Cru laden with a mélange of red and dark fruit flavors that is so delicious.

Critic James Suckling gave Chateau de Ferrand 95 Points, noting the, "Very pretty plum, chocolate and hazelnut aromas" and the "fantastic depth of fruit." He also called the wine, "Full and flavorful" with "tannins that melt into the wine." and "a remake of the top 2016." We agree that this is one fantastic bottle of wine!

Bordeaux has been on a roll with a trilogy of impressive vintages beginning with 2018. The abundant sunshine of the vintage resulted in an expressively aromatic wine of deep garnet color with abundant rich fruit framed with pliable tannins.

Chateau de Ferrand began in 1702 and was passed down through successive generations. Late in the 20th Century, improvements began to bear fruit. In 2010, the vineyards were replanted after an in-depth ampelographic soil study and adaptation of grape varieties to terroirs.

Cultivation methods were revamped and winemaking facilities have been re-imagined. Cellars have been modernized, vats adapted and increased in number to enable plot-by-plot vinification. These improvements allowed the excellent terroir to shine through and the wine's quality soared. Ferrand became classified as a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé which is a designation of quality awarded after an independent panel tastes the wine and inspects the property.

The wines from Chateau de Ferrand have never been better and the estate is capably run by Pauline Chandon-Moët and her husband Philippe Chandon-Moët.

If you're looking for a wine to share with friends and family, this Bordeaux is a great choice. We are thrilled to offer this delicious Grand Cru at the lowest price in the country!

JAMES SUCKLING 95 POINTS - "Very pretty plum, chocolate and hazelnut aromas follow through to a full body with polished yet chewy tannins and fantastic depth of fruit and structure. Powerful for this estate. Needs five to six years to soften. Try after 2026.

A very powerful red with wonderfully proportioned fruit and tannins. Chocolate and berry character. Full and flavorful. The tannins melt into the wine. A remake of the top 2016."

JEB DUNNUCK 93 POINTS - "The 2019 Château De Ferrand is beautiful and one of the finest I've tasted from this château. Gorgeous black raspberry, darker cherry, loamy earth, tobacco leaf, and chalky minerality all define the nose, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a seamless, beautifully balanced mouthfeel, and a great finish. It's one classy, balanced, elegant 2019 that will evolve for 15+ years."
