What a great way to start the New Year! This is truly a bountiful time for wines from the Southern Rhone. With a string of outstanding vintages and fantastic pricing, times have never been better to enjoy these delicious wines. This 2020 Rhone blend from the village of Cairanne crafted by Camille Cayran is a perfect case in point. The quality of the perfectly-ripened fruit and the depth of flavor really stood out when we tasted this at the store.

Decanter gave this 96 Points noting its concentration as well as balance and calling it, "Dangerously drinkable! and Impressive." We wholeheartedly agree. This has a juicy and generous fruit-forward style with supple, approachable tannins and very little wood influence.

We tasted this wine several months ago and knew its pleasing flavors of blueberry, blackberry and Kirsch coupled with its amazing quality to price ratio made it the perfect candidate for Hi-Time's Wine of the Month. We anxiously awaited its arrival and we're thrilled to now have it in the store.

Cairanne lies to the east of Orange, just a short distance from the banks of the Rhône River. The climate here is Mediterranean with hot, dry summers bringing excellent ripening to the Grenache and Syrah grapes used in this blend. Add a touch of Mourvedre to round out this GSM blend and you have palate-coating pleasure.

This crowd-pleasing wine is a remarkable value and complete no brainer that should not be missed. Enjoy!

DECANTER 96 POINTS - "Soft, ripe black forest compote nose; nice concentration of fruit on the palate. Good weight. Really well balanced in terms of fruit, acidity and tannin; supple and silky. Lots of juicy, succulent blackberry fruit flavours. Superb length. Some nice complexity coming through too. Dangerously drinkable! Impressive."

    A Favorite. Drinkable Now.

I bought another 18 bottles after tasking it. It is a lighter red like a Pinot Noir. Very fruity and a great bouquet. It was smooth with very little tannin. No need to let this age, although it will probably age for a few more years. It went great with Italian food. All my guests loved it.

Delicious Cairanne! Very fruit forward but nicely balanced and very drinkable. Will be buying more!
