Antonio Galloni is one of the more respected wine critics in the world. So when he gives something a notable score, people seem to take notice, and that includes us here in the industry. When we saw that Cambria earned 94 points for one of their Chardonnays, we had to do a double take to be sure it was the wine that has been a staple here for years…and it most certainly is!

Cambria's Chardonnay has been a constant favorite with consumers across the country. It is an enticing wine with great depth and range of flavors, remarkable balance, and savory finish. Sourced from the Katherine's Vineyard in Santa Maria Valley, Cambria has carved out a reputation for producing lush, tropical Chardonnay for 20 years.

In the same AVA as some other famous single vineyards, such as Bien Nacido, Sierra Madre, Cambria is in a plot of land that is heavily influenced by the ocean, from the cooling winds to their marine sediment soils. In addition, Cambria is also SIP Certified (Sustainability in Practice), which means that everything they do in the vineyard and winery is done with the intention of having as little negative impact on the land as possible.

Respected critic Antonio Galloni calls this wine "fabulous", and says that "these might very well be the best wines I have tasted from Cambria and winemaker Jill Russell." We took some time to run some numbers on some of Galloni's reviews, and the average price for a 94-point 2019 California Chardonnay is approximately $62.50. But this perennial favorite is currently in our store for a quaffable $15.99 per bottle...that's only a fraction of the average price for a 94-pointer!

Whether you're looking for your next favorite Chardonnay for you house, or in need of an impressive wine that doesn't break the bank for your next gathering, this Chardonnay should most definitely be on your list!

ANTONIO GALLONI 94 POINTS - "The 2019 Chardonnay Katherine's Vineyard is fabulous. Rich and ample, the Katherine's offers striking dimension to play off its mid-weight structure. Lemon confit, tangerine oil, spice and tropical accents all meld together effortlessly. The Katherine's is a blend of various parcels and clones across the estate. This classic Santa Maria Chardonnay hits all the right notes."
