Perched on a mountain top just five miles east of St. Helena, Buehler is a fourth-generation vineyard & winery dedicated to honesty, family, and high-quality wines. Many of their neighbors think the Buehlers are crazy, because the prices for the Buehler Family's wines are rather reasonable. Buehler charges around $50 for a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, while their neighbors charge 3 or 4 times that amount! For this reason, we say "kudos" to the family for keeping their wine prices modest!

Situated in the mountains above Conn Valley and near the base of Howell Mountain, the Buehler Estate vineyards are planted primarily to Cabernet Sauvignon. The juxtaposed topography of steeply sloped hillsides and gently rolling hills with eastern and southern exposures hints at the tumultuous geologic past of the Estate; extensive faulting resulted in at least three distinct soil types. Not surprisingly, grapes grown on the different soils give different characteristics to the finished wines; these differences are often as great as the differences across various Bordeaux varieties and allow winemaker David Cronin to blend within the variety of Cabernet Sauvignon to craft a truly multi-faceted Estate wine.

The 2021 growing season will be remembered as an outstanding vintage. It was an early, even paced vintage that delivered a smaller than average crop with virtually none of the heat spikes Napa sometimes experiences. A drought year, 2021 set the stage for very even ripening; ripe, mature tannins and deep color are hallmarks of the Cabernet vintage.

This is a full-flavored, classically-styled Napa Cab that surpasses Buehler's neighbors, and at a significantly more reasonable price. Respected critic Antonio Galloni calls Buehler "one of the hidden gems in Napa Valley", and has raved about the Buehler wines for several years. He rated this beauty at 94 points and says it's "powerful, dense and wonderfully expressive right out of the gate". Wine Spectator give this 93 points and calls it "ripe and caressing" with "well-defined blackberry and black currant fruit".

A Cabernet from a family-owned winery, with two wonderful reviews from two noteworthy publications, and less than $50?...'nuff said!

ANTONIO GALLONI 94 POINTS - "The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is powerful, dense and wonderfully expressive right out of the gate. Blackberry, chocolate, new leather and cloves are beautifully amplified. Large-scaled and yet super-finessed, the Estate is a terrific example of what readers can find here."

WINE SPECTATOR 93 POINTS! - "Violet and hibiscus notes add nice lift to the plush core of well-defined blackberry and black currant fruit in this red, backed by a melted licorice snap note. Ripe and caressing, with the floral freshness chiming prettily through the finish. Drink now through 2036."
