Domaine Bruno Colin’s Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Truffière comes from a small, little-known plot of just 2.5 hectares, located near the top of the Puligny-Montrachet hill, close to the hamlet of Blagny. Its name refers to the Burgundy truffle, which once thrived in these fertile soils before the vineyard was expanded on a larger scale. Grown organically on clay-limestone soil, this premier cru benefits from vines planted in 1952 and 1987. The grapes are harvested by hand and then carefully sorted to preserve the Chardonnay’s full aromatic purity. After twelve months of aging in 350-liter barrels with approximately 15% new oak, followed by several months in tank, the wine gains precision and depth. On the palate, La Truffière reveals a refined nose blending white flowers, licorice, citrus, and subtle woody notes. The palate is full-bodied, smooth, and perfectly balanced by remarkable mineral tension. Subtle peppery notes extend a long, vibrant, and elegant finish. This Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru has excellent aging potential.
