The Story Behind the NameThe name "Yellow Submarine" originated from an infamous 2005 incident where local Islay fishermen found a mysterious, Ministry of Defence-marked yellow submersible floating off the coast. After the MoD briefly denied ownership and the vessel mysteriously vanished, Bruichladdich playfully commemorated the event with their WMD/Yellow Submarine series
