The quiet passing of time, together with a unique and intriguing maturation profile, has profoundly shaped this 10 year old spirit. Butterscotch and molasses complement Octomore’s signature peat smoke, with layers of spice adding to the complexity of the single malt Scotch whisky. Ten Aged Years Nestled in the distillery warehouse and patiently waiting for their optimal moment, the Pineau des Charentes casks were filled with Octomore spirit in 2018, with the fortified wine influence adding sweet, dried fruit notes. Showcasing the versatility of this elegant spirit, Octomore 15 Ten Aged Years has patiently matured on the shores of Lochindaal for the past decade. The quiet passing of time, together with the incredible influence of cask, has helped to shape this latest expression. The specific combination of casks brings sweet, toasted oak, butterscotch, and dried fruit, which works amazingly well with Octomore’s unmistakable, dry Islay smoke. TASTING NOTES colour Apricot nose Dried fruit, butterscotch and caramel with buttered popcorn and fragrant peat smoke. palate Sweet smoked fruit balanced with vanilla, Manuka honey, subtle spices and toasted oak. finish Wood spices, coffee and charred oak while delicate peat smoke and burnt heather linger. SPECIFICATIONS BARLEY PROVENANCE: 100% Scottish Mainland Concerto barley MALTING: Super Heavily Peated DISTILLATION: Distilled in 2013 AGE: 10 Aged Years MATURATION PROFILE: A base of Octomore aged in first fill bourbon (50%) was layered with spirit aged in Pineau des Charentes casks (15%), second fill Pedro Ximénez sherry butts (25%) and first fill red wine casks (10%).
