This Barbera comes from just southeast of Monforte d'Alba, on a warm slope with a relatively high altitude, ideal for gradual ripening. Full-bodied but freshly-toned for Barbera, it shows the elegance and fine balance that is the Brandini hallmark. Succulent forest berries, a gentle spicy-balsamic depth, and a cleanly tapered finish makes this a highly-recommended red for a wide range of wine lovers and food pairings!
Brandini is a small estate on Barolo's La Morra ridge, with cooler sites that offer a response to the region's rising heat levels. Purchased by Piero Bagnasco, former CEO of Fontanafredda and a co-founder of Eataly, he saw the future of Barolo through the eyes of his daughters: clean farming and traditional cellar practices, but with a finessed and precise winemaking hand. He passed the torch to his daughters, Giovanna and Serena, in 2018, and they are hitting a great stride with their latest releases!
