This superb limited edition Speyside single malt was laid down at the Benromach distillery in 1973 and bottled in 2019 after spending 45 years in single refill American Sherry hogshead.
Released in November 2019 as one of a mere 66 bottles, this stunning golden vintage malt was bottled at a natural cask strength 50.1% ABV and comes complete with beautiful dark oak presentation case, representing the wood of the original Benromach washbacks, and a hardback booklet containing a history of the famous distillery.
Tasting Notes,
Nose: elegant aromatic, very fine and slightly spicy notes of different woods, slightly fruity, hint of orange but also apple aromas, fine sherry notes, spices, a little herbal, spicy honey. A hint of smoke.
Palate: Elegant and gentle with aromas of different woods (hint of Dalmore), a hint of perfumed, has a noble effect, finest spicy notes, gently spicy, slightly sweet and spicy, honey, a hint of barrel / coffee, old oak cabinet, very harmonious, very tasty.
Finsih: Little fruity and spicy, then a bit tart with wood / oak, slightly spicy, hint of chocolate. Balanced and long lasting.
