BenRiach 12 Year The Smoky Twelve Three Cask Matured is the core peated expression in the current BenRiach 12-year range — heavily peated single malt from one of the few Speyside distilleries with active peated production, matured in three cask types (ex-bourbon, Oloroso sherry, and PX) over 12 years for the most developed and complex version of BenRiach’s peated character at this age statement.
The Smoky Twelve draws on the same multi-cask philosophy as the unpeated Original Ten but with heavily peated malt. At 12 years the peat has had more time to integrate with the three-cask oak influence, producing a more complex and developed character than the 10-year Smoky Ten.
