Why Cracked Egg? In 2020, Bella Grace purchased their first 6,000 lb concrete tank, delivered on a flatbed tractor-trailer. They needed a particular forklift to offload and position it in the winery. While owner Charlie Havill was unloading, he backed over uneven ground and dropped the tank, which luckily landed on the trailer, causing only cosmetic damage. On the second attempt, the tank was successfully placed in position. Thus, the Cracked Egg Viognier got its name and label design of a rooster driving a machine "cracking" the label.
The color is of pale straw with great clarity. The nose is all honeysuckle with a touch of tropical fruit. The mouthfeel is smooth and silky. The flavors are ripe apricot and melon, all very delicious. It has light tannins, which create a complete and robust experience in the mouth without being overwhelming. It invites taste after taste. The finish is fresh, light, and lingering. Altogether, this is a beautiful white wine.
