BALCONES RYE 100 PROOF 50ML THE ORIGINAL TEXAS WHISKEY

Released in celebration of the distillery's 10th anniversary, this expression from Balcones is made from 100% rye, with the mashbill containing 80% raw elbon grain from north and northwest Texas as well as crystal, chocolate, and roasted rye varieties. It's allowed to age in new charred American oak barrels and bottled at 100 proof. A wonderfully chocolatey rye. Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt Nose Apple crumble with a helping of cinnamon, hot cocoa with marshmallows, young oak and orange zest, with butter and honey on freshly baked pumpernickel bread. Palate Full bodied and prominent cocoa, a pinch of tobacco, melted dark chocolate, orange zest, coffee, and honeyed malt with just a hint of char. Finish Dry oak, sawdust, peanut butter, burnt brown sugar and dark caramel chocolate.
