A Très Vieux ("Very Old") Pineau des Charentes from Bache-Gabrielsen — the cognac house founded in 1905 by Thomas Bache-Gabrielsen, a young Norwegian officer who moved to the Charente, and still family-run today under the fourth generation (Hervé Bache-Gabrielsen, since 2009). Made on the day of harvest by blending fresh white grape juice — rich in sugar — with very young, high-strength cognac, then aged in Limousin oak casks for more than 10 years, the level required for the Très Vieux designation. Built from Ugni Blanc, Colombard, and Folle Blanche grapes grown across the Fins Bois, Borderies, Petite Champagne, and Grande Champagne areas.

Nose: Honey, prunes, and candied orange.

Palate: Fruity — hazelnut butter, dried fruit, and gingerbread.

Finish: Rich vanilla from the Limousin oak; round and supple, with a very marked pineau rancio character.

ABV: 17% (34 Proof)
