"Easily one of the best values in Washington State"?... that's a pretty bold statement, especially from Eric Guido, one of the more respected critics in the wine industry. However, once we tasted this wine, we couldn't agree more!

Andrew Will is a boutique family-owned and run winery in Washington State, and named for owner Chris Camarda's son Will and nephew Andrew. Andrew Will is now considered one of the best of the best in the region, and Chris was one of the first winemakers to create blends from single vineyards. Starting in 2013 Chris's son Will Camarda came to work at the winery full time. Will has taken over as Winemaker and Sales Director, and has continued to maintain their simple philosophy of minimal intervention winemaking. Those who love both California Cabernets as well as Bordeaux know that the Andrew Will wines can appeal to both palate preferences.

Involuntary Commitment is a new project from winemaker Will Camarda, using grapes from only premium vineyard in the Columbia Valley. The idea behind the name was the forecast of a larger than expected harvest, and not wanting the grapes to go unpicked. The wine is made with great attention to detail, yet in a minimal intervention style, so the wine can be embraced with food. While immensely delicious and approachable today, this wine as the ability to age 10+ years! The blend changes from year to year, and the 2022 is comprised of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 11 months in neutral French oak barrels.

Just how good is this wine for $20? Eric Guido (who writes for Antonio Galloni's Vinous Media rated this at 92 points! He calls this "a total pleasure on the nose, lifting up with a sweetly spiced blend of violet candies, lavender, dark chocolate and blackberry preserves". Virginia Boone (who writes for Jeb Dunnuck.com) also rated this at 92 points and states it "overdelivers on its price point", and displays "dense black fruit and hints of baking spice."

Simply put, this is a truly delicious wine that's ready to be shared with friends and neighbors, and even placed on your table for tonight to compliment dinner!

ANTONIO GALLONI'S VINOUS MEDIA 92 POINTS - "The 2022 Involuntary Commitment is a total pleasure on the nose, lifting up with a sweetly spiced blend of violet candies, lavender, dark chocolate and blackberry preserves. It’s silky smooth and pliant with ripe red and blue fruit notes accelerated by juicy acidity. Chalky mineral tones add form toward the close. This finishes spicy, long and gently tannic yet incredibly fresh, leaving hints of blackcurrant and graphite that fade slowly. Involuntary Commitment is easily one of the best values in Washington State. It’s a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot."

JEB DUNNUCK 92 POINTS - "The 2022 Involuntary Commitment spent 10 months in neutral oak and is intended as a good red table wine that overdelivers on its price point, and it most definitely does. Made half from Cabernet Franc and a quarter each of Cabernet Sauvignon and a Merlot field blend, the tannins are youthful and lightly grippy, while the medium-bodied core of the wine shows dense black fruit and hints of baking spice."
