ADELPHI AKKESHI 3YR D-2018 B-2024 59.1% 700ML JAPANESE WHISKY

Adelphi is an independent bottler of Scotch Malt Whiskey and they're also the founders and owners of Ardnamurchan Distillery. This is a single cask, cask strength Single Malt Whisky from the Akkeshi Distillery in Hokkaido Japan. They are a newer distillery and in our humble opinion, one of the best of the crop of young Japanese distilleries. This is a heavily peated expression that was aged for 3 years in ex-Bourbon casks and it is a revelation! Absolutely stunningly supple and easy drinking for a whisky of its alcoholic strength and young age. Ashy smoke with notes of vanilla, burnt marshmallows, toffee, and BBQ'd beef. Somehow it's available at a price point that is even lower than regular releases from the distillery itself.
