100% Tempranillo - From the Rioja Alta region in Spain comes this lovely Rioja from Abel Mendoza. “Limoso” (meaning limestone) is grown in clay and limestone soils from 40-year-old vines, made in a super-traditional fashion using whole bunches of grapes gently trodden by foot in tanks, native yeasts used, followed by 16 months of aging in concrete. On the palate, this wine is enticing with dark cherry fruit, spice, fresh earth and herbs. This is whole-heartedly a terrior-driven wine that is utterly delightful.
