WINE ADVOCATE - 94 POINTS Named after a large salt puddle close to the lake, Heinz Velich's 2019 Darscho is from an average of 35-year-old vines and was vinified in large and small oak barrels for one year and another year in stainless steel prior the bottling. The 2019 offers an intense, complex, very elegant and Burgundian bouquet of white fruits, crushed stones and iodine notes. Lush and round on the palate, this is a noble-textured, seamless and harmonious Chardonnay with intense and ripe fruit, a characteristic minerality and remarkably long and uplifting salinity. 14% stated alcohol. Diam cork. Tasted at the domaine in Apetlon in July 2022.
