Tequila Ocho is crafted by Carlos Camarena, a third generation Tequilero. It is made carefully in small quantities the artisanal way of times past. This results in a pure Tequila which has an exceptionally full and complex Agave flavor while remaining smooth and balanced. Ocho is the first to produce Tequila from single ranches-- look for the ranch on the label.
Rancho “El Puertecito” is the highest elevation of all the Tequila Ocho vintages to date at 2,150 meters. The agaves were harvested at 8 ½ years when they were extremely mature with a high sugar content and acidity. This anejo has a nose of toasted almond, caramel, citrus rind, and butterscotch. The palate is subtly oaked with more almond flavor carrying through along with dry cacao, vegetal notes, and stewed fruit.
