ELIO PERRONE 2021 "TASMORCAN" BARBERA D'ASTI

This is the fresh, juicy, lively side of Barbera that Asti tends toward, though still carrying the vinous mouthfeel from the ~14.5% abv. The purity and balance is remarkable, making for an easy-drinking red that is ideal with many appetizers, stuffed pastas, or Neapolitan-style pizza (perhaps prosciutto & arugula). Fermented in stainless steel, while around 70% of the wine is aged for four months in 2500L botti (huge, neutral oak barrels), the remainder in 225L French oak casks.
