Nikos Karatzas, having worked in some of the best wineries in the country, follows his dream which is to explore and highlight the local varieties and intermediate varieties of Greece.
His new venture Oenops Wines in Drama presents a number of new labels. The main red wine of the range is the Simply Red a blend from Xinomavro, Limniona and Mavroudi.
Xinomavro and Limniona are fermented in large barrels of 500lt. The wine ages with its wine lees for 9 months.
This is followed by mixing and bottling. Intense fruity aromas of fresh berries and tomato leaves on the nose.
Good balance with freshness, intensity with a lively finish.
Match it with grilled meats, cold cuts and cheese. It accompanies harmonious dishes with spicy sauces.
