The grapes for ZD's Chardonnay are 100% certified organic from the cool, coastal regions of Napa Carneros, Sonoma Carneros, Monterey, and Santa Barbara. Barrel fermented, but prevented from going through malolactic fermentation, the wine was aged for 10 months in American Oak.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes: "Bright, forward aromas of ripe pineapple, guava, and hints of citrus fruits are complemented by subtle notes of orange blossom and sweet toasty vanilla. The palate is full bodied and rich with notes of pineapple, mandarin, and lemon rind that integrate wonderfully with the natural, vibrant acidity and subtle American Oak. This wine is drinking beautifully now, and like all ZD's wines, it will age gracefully and develop complexity for years to come."
