Francesco Cirelli is a low intervention winemaker, resulting in a simple and sincere expression of the land of Abruzzo. Fermented spontaneously and aged in clay vessels (amphorae), it has a delicate and light bouquet of small red fruits and wild herbs and a fresh, savory and very drinkable palate. Filtered but not fined, and low in total sulphites.

85% Montepulciano & 15% Sangiovese
This is a relatively new wine in the Moroder stable. The vineyard sits about 200 meters in altitude and less than a mile from the sea.
Aged in neutral vats so as to simply allow the fruit to shine in a more primal way. Spicy bright red fruits, cherries, dried strawberry, black tea and touches of floral perfume, cedar and smoke fill the nose with velvet ease. The tannins on the palate are as smooth and lush, backed up by excellent, zippy acidity. Upon tasting, a nice mix of fruits and spices stand out: more forward red fruits, cherries, cranberries, red plum and pomegranate, meet up with clove and brown spices and a dash of black pepper. These flavors meld with a rich earthiness and stoney minerality, leading to a fruit-filled lengthy finish. Enjoy with pizza or Italian braised meats/meat sauces: Bolognese, carbonara, osso buoco, etc.
